Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Opulent & Offensive, SAX Lounge Opens

Arguably still Posh, the former nightclub space (of the same name) recently underwent a transformation into the super swanky SAX Lounge.

Holding its grand opening with an exclusive preview Tuesday night – and follow-up fetes all week – the duo who brought Penn Quarter’s Oya and Sei, Errol Lawrence and Nancy Koida, weren’t afraid to make their new place opulent… and offensive.

Gilded grandeur met guests as they drank in decadence, enjoyed erotic live entertainment on SAX’s 20-foot enclosed infinity stage and sought out the “SAX Scandals” – satirical murals and portraits of celebrities and political figures depicting their corruption.
