Ciera Nicole Butts was crowned Miss District of Columbia USA 2014 Sunday night at the Renaissance hotel.
Chosen from a field of 42 contestants, Butts impressed the judges — including Miss USA 2002 Shauntay Hinton, Miss Teen USA 2012 Logan West and Miss Earth Virginia 2012 Sandra Fields — with this, her second appearance competing at the pageant. (Butts received 2nd runner up in 2013.)
Living by her life motto “always have confidence because insecurity gets you no where,” the 23-year old Marymount University graduate aspires to one day own and operate her own special events and PR firm. She currently works as a promotions associate at Spearhead Marketing & Promotions.
Butts is joined this year by her teen Queen, Miss DC Teen USA 2014, Dominick Fink, a 17-year old freshman at Old Dominion University.
Both titleholders will go on to represent the District of Columbia at the Miss USA & Miss Teen USA pageants held in the summer of 2014.
