Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Meagan Barnes Wins Mrs. DC 2013 Title

Meagan B. Barnes was crowned Mrs. DC America 2013, a pageant for married women, at the Jack Morton Theatre Saturday night.

A 30 year old IT consultant, married to Eminent IT co-Founder Isaac Barnes and mother to one son, Michael, Meagan — also the founder of an online resource for women suffering from anxiety and panic disorders — competed with the platform focus of “Women’s Mental Health.”

Mrs. Barnes, who also won the Fitness and Photogenic Awards, reigns over a court which includes 1st runner up Sophia Nawab, 2nd runner up Mikell Reed Carroll, and 3rd runner up Tracy Hobiena. She will move on to represent DC at the Mrs. America pageant later this year.
