Just Enough Whiskey at J&G Steakhouse

Mark Twain once said, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.”

But what about great whiskey? Because there’s plenty of that to go around at the J&G Steakhouse in the W Hotel. The famed restaurant has partnered with Catoctin Creek Distillery— “the first (legal) distillery since Prohibition in Loudoun County,” joked distillery owner Scott Harris (at right) at a media tasting on Tuesday– to bring diners an exclusive (and organic!) whiskey experience known as “515.”

A special blend of the brand’s two original spirits, Mosby and Roundstone Rye, 515 delivers a smooth, lightly spiced flavor and sweet aroma that is equal parts beach-side beverage or Fall refreshment. Pour it with house-made ginger ale, an ounce of syrup and a dash of chili (as recommended by Belinda Chang – Beverage Director for Culinary Concepts Hospitality Group) and too much is barely enough.
