Corcoran’s First Ever ‘NOW @ Night’ Has its Head in the Clouds

With the room awash in blue lighting and a conveyor belt to offer desserts, the Corcoran Gallery stayed true to modern form (and ethereal theme) last Friday night in honor of its latest exhibit Spencer Finch: My Business, with the Cloud.  The cloud-themed soiree and installations– including the seminal “Passing Cloud” piece, mark the launch of NOW at the Corcoran, a series of exhibitions beginning this fall featuring the work of contemporary artists commissioned by the museum.

Friday evening’s soiree, NOW at Night, which replaces the museum’s annual Fall Fete, had guests walking on Cloud 9 as well.
In addition to frothy Blue Moons and other sky cocktails, guests enjoyed tunes from Thunderball’s latest EP Elevated States (no accident there!), as well as access to the gallery’s newly-reinstalled permanent collection of modern and contemporary art.

The event benefited NOW exhibitions and programming.
