With the NFL lockout essentially over, these guys won’t have so much time on time on their hands… but in their days of leisure, they were getting Lucky! Earlier this month, League legends Josh Cribbs, Ray Rice, Shawn Springs, Madieu Williams and Chris Wilson joined Leigh Bodden at Lucky Strike lanes for a foundation fundraiser to benefit youth in the area.
Admitting he’s a bad bowler (“I didn’t knock down two pins!”), Bodden nonetheless saw the evening as a success, increasing community participation as well as rewarding youth for their achievements in sports and academics.
“I ask kids what they want to be all of the time and they always have these great answers… until they get older and get used to hearing no all of the time. I want them to be able to look up to me – as someone with a vision and a dream that came true. And I want to tell the kids to keep working hard.”
We want to tell Bodden to keep working, too… it’ll take practice to knock down those pins for Bowling with Bodden 2.0!
