Blondes vs. Brunettes: It’s Do or Dye

It’s a battle that gets bolder every year.  But rumor has it, this year it’s getting blonder as well.

The Blondes vs. Brunettes charity flag football game to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association is a now national rivalry of hair hues that started in DC.  The Brunettes have championed every year since inception, but the Blondes are out to tackle the title, even if they have to ‘dye’ for it.

“The rosters are actually pretty well matched this year,” said Taryn Fielder, brunette and co-Chair of Blondes vs. Brunettes for 2010 (at lleft with Brunette Captain Sam Dredge) at an intimate dinner party Tuesday night in Glover Park to kick-off fundraising for the November match.

“There have been rumors of girls dying their hair – or going back to their natural color – to play for a particular team.  But we’re still in the fundraising phase and don’t know who’s playing yet, so it’s too early to tell if there are any defectors.”

“I will say that there are a lot of hair appointments made in the weeks leading up to the game.  But it’s not necessarily to switch shades,” admitted Fielder.

“I just went in to have my hair dyed darker, actually. Had to get rid of those summer sun highlights.   I don’t want anyone mistaking my allegiance!”
