Eager girls in costume slept outside while VIPs perused the new American Girl store in Tysons Friday evening. The pre-opening event – a benefit for the Children’s National Medical Center – gave donors a sneak peek at the popular doll store’s Hair Salon, Creativi-tees Boutique and even a little dessert decorating. So why the waiting??
American Girl announced that the first five customers on opening day would receive a free doll! And as an extra special surprise, the company brought a favorite playmate, Felicity, out of retirement to be offered for a limited time… only the newly opened store.
Dressed as their favorite American Girl friends, girls and their parents stormed the two level boutique (located near Bloomingdales) Saturday for toys, books, clothes, and dolls, of course. The store is now open for the less frenzied fans.
