Amble Around and Access Art: Open Studios Tour!

“I bought the clothes right off of a guy,”said Artist Brian Petro (above).   “Walking down an alley in DC, I saw a young man high upon a ladder in the midst of painting a huge mural… I thought, if I could just get the clothes off his body and put them on canvas stretchers, a piece of artwork would be finished!”  Some replacement clothing and a handful of $20’s later… a masterpiece was made.

This story – and so many like it – will be told as the public enters the sanctuary of the sensorial… an art’s workshop, this weekend during the Mid City Artists Fall Open Studios Tour.

Twenty artists, all part of the “Mid City Artists” collaborative, will open their studio doors (10/12-13,12-5 PM) as part of the tour, now in its 10th year, which enables art-lovers to connect personally with local artists and learn more about how and where they make art, to include: drawings, sculptures, paintings, prints, photographs and mixed media.
