On Tuesday (October 29, 2019), The Children’s Inn at NIH held an official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate a new barbecue pavilion designed and built by Anthony Wilder Design/Build and their trade partners.

The festivities necessitated a special grilling experience for some of The Children’s Inn at NIH residents and their families, hosted by NIH and the Anthony Wilder team and partners. Elizabeth Wilder, president of Anthony Wilder Design/Build; Jennie Lucca, CEO of The Children’s Inn at NIH; and Lois Alperstein, board member at The Children’s Inn, were all on hand to share in the luncheon and join Evelyn, a resident at The Inn, in cutting the ribbon on the new grill.

This new grilling area was not only designed by Anthony Wilder Design/Build, but — with the help of its partners — donated through time, labor, materials and cost. The area now allows families with children participating in clinical trials for life-threatening illnesses to enjoy a meal together in an outdoor setting.
