The Yards continues its series of springtime celebrations with VineYards April 22 & 23.
Centered around the neighborhood’s chef-driven restaurants, The Yards invites guests to enjoy a curated dinner and wine tasting experience that comes with everything you need for a fun night in: a stylish insulated wine bag, tablecloth, cloth napkins, napkin rings, and Yards branded wine glasses! This opportunity is available as a pick-up experience, featuring virtual tutorials and short educational clips from winemakers so you can learn how to pair wines with your favorite meals from home.
Participants can also enter a social media contest by posting a photo of their favorite part of the dining experience for a chance to win a $100 gift card to Steadfast Supply to complete their wine tasting night! Tickets are available here, and orders will be available for pick up at their respective restaurants on April 22nd and 23rd.

Nay Yard based Puerto Rican restaurant La Famosa will host a pop-up in partnership with Other Half Brewing in Ivy City on Sunday, May 16th from 12 – 6 p.m. Chef Joancarlo Parkhurst and team will serve a lineup of Puerto Rican snacks such as Alcapurrias de Carne (plantain and yuca fritters stuffed with a savory beef picadillo OR impossible meat filling) and Bacalaito (salt cod fritter served with crema verde) on the brewery’s outdoor covered deck.
The brewery currently does not accept reservations and all outdoor seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Other Half Brewing is located at 1401 Okie Street NE, Washington, D.C. 20002.
As part of a series of events commemorating AAPI Heritage Month at Hook Hall a group of noted DC chefs will prepare a three-course dinner and offer a conversation between courses. The event, to be held at the Park View bar and event space and benefitting “Chefs Stopping AAPI Hate” will take place May 20 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The evening of food and drink will feature dinner prepared by Chefs Michelle Brown, Teaism; Kevin Tien, Moon Rabbit; and Eric Bruner Yang, Maketto.
Each course will be paired with cocktails by House of Suntory.
Christine Platt, managing director of American University’s Antiracism and Policy Center, will lead a conversation with Chefs Brown, Tien, Bruner Yang and Tim Ma of Lucky Danger.

You’ll be able to see the 2021 contestants for Miss District of Columbia perform their talents and entertain audiences. One of these lucky ladies will go on to compete at Miss America later this year. Can you predict which one you’ll see on TV?
This ticket grants access to one (1) virtual attendee of the Miss District of Columbia virtual talent show. You will be emailed more information on how to virtually on the day of the talent show, June 2nd. Your entry fee will be donated to the American Childhood Cancer Organization to help them serve childhood cancer warriors in the DC area and beyond!
Tickets to this all virtual event are $5. Proceeds will go to American Childhood Cancer Organization.

Join in this Saturday, June 12, to walk, celebrate, march, be visible, and amplify the rich culture of Washington, DC’s most favorite parade, the Capital Pride Parade!
Participants will gather at Dupont Circle at noon and prepare to walk, run, bike, rollerblade, stroll, etc., to Freedom Plaza.
Depart at 12:30 PM
- Head down P ST NW to Logan Circle.
- From Logan Circle, we will head south on 13th ST and finish at Freedom Plaza for the Pride Rally. No motor vehicles will be permitted.
If anyone cannot meet at Dupont Circle, please depart from your own neighborhood and make your way down to Freedom Plaza by 2:00 pm.
There will be a rally with music at Freedom Plaza that will be followed by the first Pridemobile Parade at 3:00 pm.
