Lil Baby, hip hop’s hottest new sensation, is headed back to the nation’s capital in 2020, making his debut at The Anthem (901 Wharf Street SW) in the city’s popular multibillion-dollar waterfront development The Wharf.
During the Atlanta native’s eagerly awaited show on Thursday, January 23 fans will hear his hit song
“Woah” — which topped Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart last month — among other tracks from
his high-energy catalog.
Florida rapper Rod Wave will also perform, setting the stage for Lil Baby, who first hit the scene in
2016 and has since garnered a recent Grammy nomination and 1 billion streams on Apple Music.
Two local newcomers will open the show — Luckey and Walkdown Will, both artists from D.M.V.
record label Major Life Music, an offshoot of Major Life Entertainment.
The events and music group, comprised of sibling duo and co-founders Abubakarr and Mohamed
Tejan Jalloh, along with their six partners, is responsible for bringing A-list talent like Nicki Minaj,
French Montana and more to venues around the world, from Washington to London.
Tickets for the all-ages show are $55 to $80, with doors opening at 6:30pm and a start time of 8pm.

Winter Blast: A Family Day of Native Games
Saturday, Jan. 25, 10:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
This free family-friendly event celebrates Indigenous games from the Arctic to Argentina. Visitors can meet Talibah Begay (Navajo) as she shares a traditional Navajo shoe guessing game. Leihua Stewart (Native Hawaiian) teaches traditional Hawaiian games. Participants can learn to play Bolivian games with Julia Garcia (Aymara). The day features hands-on activities and “make-and-takes.”

Fortas Chamber Music Concerts: Nelly’s Harpsichord: Music from Mount Vernon
Harpsichordist Richard Egarr plays the newly completed replica of Eleanor “Nelly” Custis one-of-a-kind harpsichord, a gift from her grandfather George Washington in 1793. The program features popular music from Nelly’s time and selections from her own song book to be announced from the stage.

Maryland won the blues lottery when Billy Price moved to Baltimore after 50 years dominating the Pittsburgh blues scene. With his rich voice of buttery soul, Price first entered the national spotlight as a collaborator with guitarist Roy Buchanan. Price’s prolific solo career includes 16 releases and countless awards and honors, including recognition as a “Pittsburgh Rock ’n’ Roll Legend.” His album Reckoning has been nominated for a Blues Music Award, and his new album, Dog Eat Dog, was released on Gulf Coast Records in August 2019. De Marcos first gained notoriety in the US as founder of the Buena Vista Social Club, an ensemble of legendary Cuban musicians assembled to revive the music of pre-revolutionary Cuba to its golden age. De Marcos established The Afro-Cuban All Stars to promote Cuba’s brilliant young musicians and highlight its senior talent. Featuring a rotating, multi-generational cast, the group draws on the classic Cuban styles of son and danzón, along with contemporary dance rhythms like timba.
