What: A taste of Senate Beer in the secluded garden of the Heurich House Museum. $7 beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

When: Thursday, July 11th, 2019

Beer will be available while supplies last.

1921 will be open from 5-8pm.

Where: 1921 Sunderland Pl NW. Washington, DC 20036

More Info: www.instagram.com/1921sun/

About the Senate Beer Revival:

The test batches and final recipe were developed by Pilot Brewer Jeff Clawson from Oregon State University’s Fermentation Science Department who, together with Professor of Fermentation Science Tom Shellhammer, analyzed a 20-page-laboratory-report on Senate Beer from 1948 to recreate the historic DC hometown favorite. The report was discovered and initially reviewed by Lost Lagers partners Pete Jones and Mike Stein, the duo who developed the historic Heurich’s Lager recipe in 2015 together with the museum and DC Brau.

The Chr. Heurich Brewing Co. Senate Beer brand was popularized in the 1890s, survived Prohibition, and was produced until 1956. The museum initially released the beer last month at a taste test where they collected data from their guests which will inform the final recipe. The beer will be brewed locally and will be available for the general public this Fall.
