Rockin’ at the Ridge Concert @ City Ridge Great Lawn

Get ready for the ultimate soundtrack to summer with City Ridge’s summer music series, Rockin’ at the Ridge. Every Friday, kick back and relax on City Ridge’s Great Lawn to enjoy live music, beer, wine and fun in the summer!

Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn or beach chairs. Beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the event. While at City Ridge, guests can also stop by Wegmans and Tatte Bakery & Cafe for additional bites and refreshments.

WHEN: The concert series will run every Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM from June 2 through August 25

WHERE: City Ridge’s Great Lawn (20 Ridge Square NW, Washington, DC 20016). Hourly parking is available on-site.

Did someone say live music, delicious food, and drinks? The inaugural season of Jazz @ Met, produced by the National Landing BID, DC Jazz Festival and Amazon, has a weekly lineup of jazz artists.

Starting June 15 through August 17, doors will open to guests every Thursday at 4 PM and music starts at 5 PM. The year’s lineup includes:

Come anytime after 6 PM to pick up occasional swag and grab a bite to eat at one of the participating food trucks or pack a picnic. Movies will begin at 7 PM.

‘Brunchin’ with The Queens’ drag brunch @ Commentary Social House

The Commentary Social House is excited to partner with SADBrunch on Saturday, July 15th for its ‘Brunchin’ with The Queens’ drag brunch hosted by Cake Pop.

Doors open at 11 am and the shows kick off at noon for an unforgettable experience filled with entertainment, great food, and fabulous performances with five queens taking the stage.

Admission includes a seat and a complimentary meet & greet with the queens, with a brunch buffet and a limited a la carte menu available for purchase during the event.

Cocktails, bottle service, and bottomless mimosas will be available, as well as the option to make your own mimosa at your table. The buffet menu will feature delights such as an omelet station, salads, pasta salads, dinner rolls, sausage, bacon, chicken & waffles, French toast sticks, sushi, prime rib, red snapper with lemon chorizo butter, smoked salmon, mini assorted tarts, cupcakes, and fresh fruit.

It’s a culinary experience fit for a queen! This event is open to ages 21 and above. Tickets for the event are $20.

City Ridge Fashion Lecture Series @ City Ridge

  • Fashion Lecture Series: Embark on an extraordinary journey through time with renowned fashion historian, John Tiffany, at City Ridge’s monthly Fashion Lecture Series. Prepare to be captivated as history, fashion, forgotten facts, and never-before-seen photos come together to create an experience that fashion lovers and historians will not want to miss. The series continues throughout the summer with lectures on the 1950s and 1960s:

    • 1950s: Ladies and Rebels

      • Date & Time: Thursday, July 20 from 7-8 PM

      • Details: When the Paris design workrooms shut down at the start of World War II, New York became the fashion capital of the world. Eleanor Lambert, iconic fashion publicist, propelled the industry forward with the world’s first fashion week, the International Best Dressed List, the Coty Awards, the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute and the Met Gala. Lambert also shaped the careers of some of history’s most renowned fashion icons including Mainbocher, Valentina and Christian Dior. In collaboration with Lambert, Dior launched his first collection, The New Look, and the duo later created the first Paris Fashion Week. John Tiffany, Eleanor Lambert’s biographer and former assistant, will detail how it happened, sharing never-before-seen photos, sensational stories and the juicy gossip behind one of most fascinating decades in the world of fashion.
