Shoppers looking for unique and meaningful gifts this year are coming to One Journey’s Global Holiday Market on Saturday & Sunday, December 4 & 5, 2021. Held in the beautifully upgraded space of St. Thomas Episcopal Parish near Dupont Circle (1517 18th Street, NW), the event features art, crafts, foods, and apparel from refugee artisans, artists, and vendors, and refugee-serving organizations.
The Global Holiday Market is a valued sales event for refugee vendors and entrepreneurs, which include: Our Culture Is Love, FOKUS Handcrafts, From Egypt With Love, GingerBandar, FenZoul, WillS Art, Anatolian Artisans, Love Without Borders, 734 Coffee (Humanity Helping Sudan), and more. They are part of the more than 75 vendors taking part in the Dupont Circle Holiday Pop-up on Saturday, Dec 4, and will be back for a second day at St. Thomas Parish on Sunday.
“Every purchase that shoppers make helps refugees,” says Julia Duncan, one of the One Journey organizers. “With the current wave of Afghan newcomers, it’s so important to not just raise awareness about refugees, but also showcase the talents and contributions they bring to their new country.”
