The Members of  Living in Pink are holding this event in honor of “Mech” and to raise funds for research to continue Michele’s fight against Breast Cancer.

 

RaceDC will be providing Chronotrack timing on this certified course – serious runners are welcome!  This event is open to anyone who wants to run, walk, cheer, or just hang out for a fun morning of friendship and celebration. You can register as an individual, start a team, or join a team. Do as much or as little fundraising as you want. Just come out and have a great time!

Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair @ Union Market

Washington City Paper is pleased to announce that the 12th annual Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair will return to Union Market in Northeast Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.

The two-day outdoor exhibition will feature handmade products and wares by more than 150 artists and crafters from around the country. The fair will run daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Union Market, located at 1309 5th St. NE, Washington, D.C.

One-day admission is $5, with a two-day pass available for $10, if purchased in advance. Children 12 years old and younger will be admitted free. Crafty Bastards tickets will be available this summer online at washingtoncitypaper.com/craftybastards. Additional information on vendors and entertainment will be released closer to the event via the Crafty Bastards mailing list and social media.

DC Walk for the Animals & Pet-A-Palooza @ Kingsbury Center

The Washington Humane Society (WHS) will host its annualDC Walk for the Animals & Pet-A-Palooza on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. WHS has also announced its partnership with 94.7 Fresh FM as this year’s Presenting Sponsor featuring 94.7 Fresh FM’s very own Darik Kristofer as Emcee. The event will return to The Kingsbury Center (5000 14th Street, NW), near the Carter Barron Amphitheater in Northwest DC. This is a community event with fun for both two- and four-footed members of the family.

Individuals and teams with their canine friends will walk one mile to raise awareness and much needed funding forWHS. Plus, WHS adopters have the chance to become the Grand Marshal of the Walk, by entering their dog’s information upon Walk registration at www.dclovesdcanimals.org. The Grand Marshal and winning dog will help kick off the festivities for the day, and lead the Walk!

In addition, Pet-A-Palooza is a festival of games, contests, and activities for kids, adults, and dogs. Adopt Force One, the WHS mobile adoption vehicle, will be onsite with adoptable animals looking to find their forever homes. Prizes for Top Fundraising Team and Top Individual Fundraiser will be awarded at the event.

This event is free to attend, but WHS encourages walkers to register or to create a team to help raise critical funds for DC animals; registration is $20 for adults, $15 for kids (4 – 12 years old), and free for children ages three and under. Also on the registration page, participants can set up personalized fundraising pages to motivate friends and family to get involved.

Unable to join the Walk? Become a “virtual walker” to support DC animals by making an online gift. 100% of the proceeds from this event support the animals and the work of WHS. 3rd Annual Hula at Hank’s Luau @ Hank’s Oyster Bar in Dupont Circle

This season, Emmy nominated costume designer Daniel Lawson will be joining Lafayette 148 New York for an exclusive fashion presentation at Saks Fifth Avenue at Chevy Chase, Maryland on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11am.
