Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. VIDA Wants to Pump You Up

Pumping iron in DC has never been so glamorous! With 51,000 square feet and five levels that also include a spa, upscale restaurant, and private rooftop Penthouse Pool Club, U Street’s new flagship location of VIDA Fitness and Bang Salon is a gem of a gym.
To celebrate its grand opening, the newly expanded and renovated state-of-the-art facility rolled out the red carpet and transformed into a luxurious lounge on Saturday evening. DJ Royce’s progressive beats got guests warmed up while they flexed their stronges muscles – those used to sip and eat from the 901 Restaurant & Bar and Capitol City Brewing Company menus!  All this while artists from Cirque du Solei gave their own cardio show… a dazzling performance suspended on the side of the building.
