Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Team Tennis: New Fortress for Kastles

Today the Kastles announced the team’s 2009 head coach, Murphy Jensen, as well as the 2009 team roster, which includes Leander Paes, (the world’s fifth-ranked doubles player and an eight-time Grand Slam champion!!), Angela Haynes, (the 2006 WTT women’s MVP who is currently ranked 137th in singles and 112th in doubles in the world), Coco Vandeweghe, (winner of the 2008 U.S. Open Girl’s title), and 2008 Kastle Scott “Boom Boom” Oudsema (who finished with the fifth-best singles record among WTT roster players last season).

Serena Williams will also be returning for her second season as a Washington Kastle – yet she makes her only home appearance for the team on July 14 against the Newport Beach Breakers.

The first home game, pitting sister(‘s team) against sister in a match with Venus Williams and the Philadelphia Freedoms is set for July 7th. Ticket information found here.
