Superbowler Becomes Prince Charming at the “Prom”

“Even the Queen is celebrating her diamond jubilee, but it’s going to be nothing like the party we’re having here!” said emcee JC Hayward (WUSA 9) about The House, Inc.’s Seventh Annual A Cinderella Ball on Sunday morning at the Willard Intercontinental.

The Willard played host for the fifth year to this prom for students with life-threatening illnesses and disabilities, welcoming the likes of Grammy Award-winning duo Mary Mary, New York Giants’ Linebacker Clint Sintim, and Walt Disney Company’s Cinderella and Prince Charming.

More than 100 students and their families were in attendance at this one-of-a-kind prom, which included a private dinner, a concert by Mary Mary, and, of course, a dance, for the D.C.’s Capital Area disabled youth.

Mary Mary was excited to come back and perform for a second straight year, concluding their performance by  asking to return… “I know this is our second year, but can we come back?” which launched an abundance of crowd clapping and cheering.

Clint Sintim, D.C. area native, escorted his sister, Brittany, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), taking on a new role as Prince Charming of the ball.

“It’s a great cause, and I’m just happy to be here,” Sintim said about the ball, showing off his Super Bowl ring to an enthusiastic audience and reveling in being a part of his sister’s special day.
