St. Michaels, MD

When I’m in need of a charming, peaceful weekend vacation (and I just happen to have a three day weekend and need to come up with a great idea for Valentine’s Day…) I love Bed & Breakfasts. There is just something about the
intimacy of a residence where guests interact, sit and start the day together that makes me feel like I’ve really gained an experience.

And I found the perfect B&B in St. Michaels, MD – the Parsonage Inn – for the Valentine’s Day/President’s Day weekend. Located just across from the Maritime Museum (and the perhaps more well known Inn at Perry Cabin), the Parsonage Inn, operated by Innkeepers Bill and Char Wilhelm, was certainly the most hospitable location in town!

This is the “little town that fooled the British” – which takes its name from an Espicopal Parish established in 1677 – and we explored it from its tip at Black Walnut Point to the museum at St. Mary’s Square and everything in between. But even though it was small, we didn’t get a chance to see everything! Good thing St. Michaels is less than a two hour car ride from the District (and you’ll get to traverse the Bay Bridge).

If you’re planning to go and want a restaurant suggesion, I recommend 208 Talbot – it’s right next to our Inn and has the best catfish and fried green tomatoes…
