What’s this happy news we hear? D.C. Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee is ENGAGED to Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. The stealth couple had long denied a romance (sometimes you can believe everything you read!), but there was no denying the new rock on Rhee’s finger when she spoke at an education event downtown on Wednesday night. It’s a true Washington romance – the two met through Johnson’s charter school and he later testified at her confirmation hearing – so perhaps a City Hall wedding officiated by Mayor Fenty? A gala reception at the Mellon Auditorium or a low-key bash over at the Wilson Building?
Alas, the bi-coastal power couple has set no date and Rhee says they plan on a long engagement.
