Celebrity designer and “Project Runway” winner Anya AyoungChee will join WDCW-TV’s Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle Expo — one of Washington, DC’s largest beauty & fashion related events of the year — as one of the event’s headline designers.
The event, which features multiple shows, free beauty make-overs, meet and greet sessions with nationally-known models and other celebrities (including host ‘Miss J’ Alexander!) and more than 60 booths of local beauty &
fashion-related businesses, will also now be exclusively showcasing AyougChee’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection during the expo, which happens Saturday, October 20th, 2012 from 2 – 8 PM at the Washington Convention Center.
AyoungChee, the winner of “Project Runway” Season 9 and one of the hottest young fashion designers to emerge from the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago) in recent years, launched her women’s label, PILAR, in May 2009, followed by a lingerie line in 2010.
Her career in fashion came after representing her country at the Miss Universe pageant, which propelled her into modeling and TV hosting.
Other FBL featured designers include Nam Nguyen, Kelly Tang, Walish Gooshe, Aidah, and Tashia Senn.
