Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. [Party Pix] Inside the Funky Fresh Foodie Fest

Rolling up to the Fairgrounds Saturday afternoon were favorite food trucks Pepe, Takorean, BBQ Bus, Curbside Cupcakes, DC Empanadas, DC Slices, Fojol Bros., Pleasant Pops, The Rolling Ficelle, and the Tapas Truck.  And while attendees ate, and ate, and ate, Judo Chop, Sean Chyun and the Deceivers, Flo Anito, and the Hari Karaoke Band played on.  Even Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton was noshing — and announced the winners of this year’s various DC Trucky Awards.

The Funky Fresh Foodie Fest offered plates from 10 gourmet food trucks, wine/margs/craft beers, live music and other entertainment in a new take on a neighborhood block party, all to benefit DC Central Kitchen.
