[Party Pix] Inside The Fab Empire’s “Coats & Cocktails”

The Fab Empire and Talk of DC hosted “Coats and Cocktails,” an outerwear drive to benefit the homeless in Washington, DC last Friday. Young professionals in the Washington metropolitan area were asked to donate new or gently used outerwear items for the homeless while enjoying complimentary Moët & Chandon champagne.

The charity event, held at The Park at Fourteenth, collected nearly 1,000 coats for the homeless, which were later donated to Martha’s Table, a non-profit organization that services over 4,000 needy men, women and children in the District.

Among those in attendance were ABC7’s Jummy Olabanji, WPGC radio personalities Sunni and DJ Heat, BET’s Natasha Bryson, Director of Regional Press at Obama for America Stephanie L. Young, WHUR’s Ray Baker, ColorComm founder Lauren W. Wilson, along with Martha’s Table’s Gyasi Payton, who spoke of the importance of the evening’s donations.
