NOVA Arts

by Shelley O’Brien

Friday night arts patrons enjoyed a sneak preview of the 20th annual Northern Virginia Arts Festival which took place this weekend at the Reston Town Center. The preview party, held at the College Board’s 9th Floor Sky Lobby, provided breathtaking views of Northern Virginia and gave guests a glimpse of the artists work shown at the festival this weekend.

Previewing artists included Alison Palmer from Kent, CT, whose porcelain dog statue was featured in the festival’s advertising and artist Rasa Pranckunaite from Astoria, NY whose photography based 2D mixed media of trees and other natural materials.

Noted attendees at the party included Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chair Sharon Bulova, Virginia Delegate Ken Plum and his wife Jane, and Natasha Barrett from News Channel 8, participating as the evening’s emcee.
