National Pinball Museum Pushed Out

Game Over?

Just 5 months ago, we reported the National Pinball Museum‘s relocation to the Shops at Georgetown Park.  But it looks like the museum is being forced to play a little pinball of its own.

Vornado Realty, which recently took ownership of Georgetown’s struggling indoor shopping space, gave the Museum a surprise “eviction” last week, which Museum owner David Silverman admits is within the legal boundaries of the lease.  Even so, he laments the 6 months and some $300,000 he spent preparing for its grand opening, and the timing of the move – peak pinball tourist season.

With only 60 days notice to relocate, the National Pinball Museum is eager to find a more promising permanent home.  (It seems New Mexico is eager to have the unique exhibit.)  In the meantime, admission has dropped from $13.50 to $3, and donations (both monetary and storage space) are being accepted.
