Saturday night at the Ritz Carlton, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society presented the winners of its Man and Woman of the Year Competitions, announcing which candidates raised the most money to help victims of blood cancers.
Now in its 20th year, the competition included 19 local candidates racing to raise $1 million in a ten week fundraising frenzy. This year’s event is in honor of two special patient heroes, the 2011 Boy & Girl of the Year: Ryan Darby and Molly Farrell.
Among those in attendance were LLS Woman and Man of the Year 2008 Chartese Burnett (2011 co-Chair) and Jim Galbanek and Woman of the Year 2007, Michelle Galbanek (all above left), Man of the Year 2011 candidate Wright Sigmund with Natalie Grigorian (right), and 2010 Man of the Year Sean Geiger with Maryam Aranee (left).
