Inside Washingtonian’s ‘Best Of’ Bash!

Celebrating its 50th anniversary year — and all things great in the District — Washingtonian Magazine held its annual ‘Best of‘ Bash at the National Building Museum last week.


While the magazine boasts lists of the greatest of everything… from Media Personalities to Places to Decorate on the Cheap… this main event features the highlights of the city’s eats and sips, with booths ranging from Acqua Al 2 to Westend Bistro (no X’s, Y’s, or Z’s this year!).

A pre-event reception sponsored by the American Beverage Association (“Though after 5, we might as well be the “Mixer Association…” we overheard!) offered VIPs the chance to rub elbows with magazine Publisher Catherine Merrill Williams before heading down onto the main floor.


There, not only did too may terrific choices await — from a number of hotspots, but also many obscure Greater DC area selections — but there were also hand rolled cigars, a lipstick beauty bar, handwriting analysts, a silent auction, and information on a number of community causes.
