Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

FOTOWEEK is upon us!  Photophiles launched a seven day celebration of their snaps last weekend at the Corcoran, but will continue to fete those photos – and the photogs behind the lens – until November 13th during the 2010 FOTOWEEK.

DC’s now annual showcase is one of the world’s largest premiere photo festivals, bringing tens of thousands of shutter enthusiasts to see and share their creativity.

With gallery venues all over the city, and even on most of the city, it’s easy for everyone to get involved, or at the least, happen upon the action.  Some of our favorites include Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation’s Photocinema Experience: Outernational (11.11), a Photo Slam at Busboy & Poets (11.11), and a workshop to show amateurs how to get their works published (11.13).
