Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. The staff at Carpenter’s Shelter is excited to announce the date for the 12th annual Carpenter’s Cook-Off. Every year, Carpenter’s Shelter brings together 30 of the area’s best restaurants and chefs for a culinary event in order to raise money to support the shelter operations.
