Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Each year the Armed Forces Foundation Congressional Gala brings together the most eclectic group in Washington to honor our nation’s military service members.  This year’s event takes place on Wednesday, April 9th at the Ronald Reagan Building and hosts wounded service members and their families from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Fort Belvoir’s Warrior Transition Brigade, and other local installations. Joined by Members of Congress, senior military leaders, corporate sponsors, and civilian supporters, the event recognizes those who have gone above and beyond in support of the Armed Forces Foundation’s mission.
