DC Chefs Turn Up the Heat!

DC’s most celebrated female chefs and ovarian cancer research supporters gathered on Tuesday night at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for the 7th annual “Turn Up the Heat!” Gala hosted by the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance to support and raise awareness for the cause.
“I’ve attended this event for the last 5 years,” guest Ellen Hersh told K Street Kate.  “My husband and I keep coming year after year because of the cause.  I think ovarian cancer is one of the saddest things that can happen to a woman.”
Despite the gloom of the cause, the night was filled with food and fun.  Gala guests sampled signature dishes from the regions top women chefs: Jamie Leeds of Hank’s Oyster Bar and LoungeSara Fatell of Grassroots GourmetSomchet Chumpapo and Patrice Dionot of L’Academie de Cuisine, and Rita Garruba of 8407 Kitchen Bar to name a few.
