Getting local area journalists to support the cause was just the icing on the cake for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.  Tuesday night at One Lounge, ABC 7‘s Natasha Barrett hosted the 2nd annual Cupcakes & Cocktails event for the organization, joined by colleagues Alison Starling, Leon Harris and Arch Campbell as well as Fox 5’s Steve Chenevey, WUSA 9’s Anita Brikman and NBC 4’s John Schriffen.

Reporters not only provided juice to the event as notables, but were there to judge a local cupcake competition, annointing  CakeLove as the “Prettiest Pastry”, Batter Up to have the most “Fanciful Flavor,” and Heller’s Bakery the one from which they would most like some more… among other awards.  b+l bakehouse overwhelmingly won “People’s Choice.”
Ticket sales, a silent auction and other donations helped to raise a sweet $7,000+ for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. A sugary success, everyone went home happy… and with a Georgetown Cupcake.
