When shopping just makes everything right with the world, and there is never any buyer’s remorse, is that when you’re a shopaholic? Maybe when you’ve maxed out four credit cards and you have to tell your boss the collections agent is an ex-boyfriend stalker – is that when you’re a shopaholic? Or perhaps when the store mannequins start talking to you… you’re either a shopaholic or insane! You’ll understand when you see the movie.
Tonight I went with several good girlfriends to Mazza Gallerie for Mix 107.3’s premiere of Confessions of a Shopaholic featuring Isla Fisher (my ticket courtesy of www.glamazondiaries.com). A chick-flick for sure, Shopaholic was based on a widely read novel by Sophie Kinsella, and stayed basically true to the printed word. It was young and catchy and fun – more like Legally Blonde than Devil Wears Prada.
Favorite line: “Because nobody checks up on the Finnish.”
Worst costuming moment: The black and white cocktail dress worn to the ball.
Best part to look for: The dancing scene with the fan.
Overall fun factor: 3.5
