Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. CB2 Opens with Music and ‘Models’ in Georgetown

“Here’s the concept: Everyone’s a model… and we do a catalogue shoot,”  explained iStrategyLabs‘ Peter Corbett of CB2‘s Grand Opening party in Georgetown Friday night.

Event organizers invited hundreds of opening night attendees to flash a smile, strike a pose and groove to the tunes of visiting DJ Spider for a chance to be in the upcoming CB2 Georgetown catalog.

The (somewhat) slashed price step-sister of Crate & Barrel, CB2 is a modern housewares and furniture center that caters more to the academic and apartment crowd (and happens to be located right next to Georgetown University).

*A percentage of sales from the evening – and the entire opening weekend – were donated to the Capital Area Food Bank.
