A year of good eats came with charitable treats. Carmine’s, a legendary NYC feasting den, feted its one-year anniversary in Washington’s Penn Quarter neighborhood Tuesday evening with an event to honor the Trust for the National Mall. It was an Italian celebration of “family-style” proportions that featured many of the restaurant’s most popular plates and more than a few casks of convivial Chianti.
Carmine’s CEO
Jeffrey Bank (above) was on hand to welcome guests – including artist
Don Patron, RAMW President
Lynne Breaux and Developers
Norman, Matthew and Douglas Jemal – and make a sizeable donation toward the Trusts’ efforts to restore and improve the National Mall.
Those in attendance congratulated the resto on a year of success (some highlights of which were winning “Power Spot” and “Most Favorite Restaurant” in the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington’s 2011 RAMMY awards competition) and vied for a variety of items raffled by the Trust, such as pieces from Ferragamo and Prada… and a group dinner at Carmine’s before a show at the nearby Shakespeare Theatre.
