When you don’t want to look just like all of your fashionable friends, boutique shopping is a best bet: unique finds, great prices, and the fab feeling that comes from shopping and supporting local.
Alexandrites already know they have some of the best of this shopping savvy — but after last weekend style seekers across the region are in tune to Old Towns trends.
Why? Because Carlis Sanchez of SCDC Agency and Jessica Hoy of NeuProfile/Ink Blot Army launched their first Blogger Crawl event in Old Town Alexandria last Friday, inviting fifteen of the areas top bloggers and media mavens to visit and shop twelve local store locations — and collect serious sample swag along the way.

The Crawl, the first of a series in different locations around the region, introduced local businesses and their wares to some of the area’s top digital aficionados. The point (on the side of the boutiques) was the hope for a little online love/social media exposure. The hope (for the writers) was to collect more than a few fashionable finds along the way.

Among the stops on the tour were BellaCara (cosmetics to covet!), Coco Blanca, Hysteria, Current Boutique (clean out those closets.. and bring home a new-to-you brand name), Bloomers (your underwear drawer will thank you!), Mint Condition, Bishop Boutique (it’s like your dream walk-in closet in there!), Red Barn Mercantile (want. want. want.), She’s Unique, 529 Kids Consign, and The Shoe Hive where the Crawl ended with a finale party complete with Poshbooth pop-up digital photo booth, Skullcandy headphones, and an enchanted garden party display by Petite Social.
