Business is Booming: Georgetown

Not so long ago, Georgetown feared vacant commercial zones and empty storefronts.  But April showers have brought serious shopping powers, with 15 national brands and independent merchants moving in. Here’s what’s new… and what’s COMING!
Babette (3307 Cady’s Alley NW): San Francisco-based artfully-designed clothing which made its  East Coast debut in Georgetown on March 21. 
Bookhill Bistro (1639 Wisconsin Ave. NW): Opened in a historic home in Book Hill in April with a patio perfect for spring; Serving diners from breakfast to late night. 
CB2 Georgetown (3307 M St. NW):  The only local modern outpost of its sister store Crate & Barrel, CB2 brought its home furnishings to M Street with a “magazine model” party on April 30. 
Fleurir Chocolates (3235 P St. NW): “Chocolat” comes to Georgetown! Locally-based Fleurir Chocolates specializes in “hand grown” chocolates offering a unique selection of flavors like Pink Peppercorn, Lavender Shiraz and Peanut Butter Banana. 
Heiner Contemporary (1675 Wisconsin Ave. NW): This contemporary art gallery features emerging and mid-career artists working in a range of media. 
Lou Lou (1304 Wisconsin Ave. NW): Accessorizing DC with its selection of jazzy jewelry and affordable accessories.
Rag & Bone (3067 M St. NW): Modern NYC-based threads in the company’s first US boutique outside of New York City. 
Sprinkles Cupcakes (3015 M St. NW): Known as “the world’s first cupcake bakery,” this Beverly Hills- sweet spot helps make Georgetown DC’s unofficial cupcake capital. 

Serendipity 3 (3150 M St. NW): Bringing its famed Frrrozen® Hot Chocolate and other signature dishes to DC for the first time, the NYC-based famed foodspot opened at the corner of Wisconsin and M on Memorial Day.

AllSaints Spitalfields (3235 M St. NW): Another edgy British clothing retailer comes M Street, featuring the brand’s signature bold, well-tailored rock ‘n roll styles. 
Brooks Brothers (3077 M St. NW): Opening in Fall 2011, get your Mad Men-style suits and classic cuts for ladies.
Calvin Klein Underwear (3207 M St. NW): Stock up on unmentionables -and sleepwear – in late spring/early summer at CKU’s second U.S. location (the other is in SoHo). 
Comer & Co. (1659 Wisconsin Ave. NW): Antique collectors rejoice!  Virginia-based Comer & Co. opens at the end of May 2011, joining Georgetown’s extensive antiques and home furnishings scene.  
Michael Kors (3103 M St. NW): Adding another highly acclaimed national designer to the Georgetown fashion mix, Michael Kors opens up on M Street this year.
Nectar Skin Bar (1633 Wisconsin Ave. NW): Pampering on the corner of P Street.  Nectar Skin Bar opens at the end of May offering spa services, beauty products and their signature Lash Dip service – a semi-permanent mascara treatment you’ll want to know more about.
