The crown is in town! Miss America graces the Capital City just in time to savor the Cherry Blossoms… and a host of other fun festivities. The Queen’s court – indeed the top finalists at 2011’s Miss America Pageant – kicked-off a week of Capital sightseeing, networking and politiking Sunday night with a Southwestern style dinner at the home of Teri Galvez, Executive Director of the Miss DC Scholarship Program, and coordinator of this monumental visit of the Misses.
Attendees included Miss Arizona Kathryn Bulkley, Miss California Arianna Afsar, Miss Colorado Melaina Shipwash, Miss Connecticut Brittany Decker, Miss Delaware Kayla Martell, Miss District of Columbia Stephanie Williams, Miss Florida Jaclyn Raulerson, Miss Kentucky Djuan Keila Trent, Miss Louisiana Kelsi Crain, Miss Maine Arikka Knights, Miss Maryland Lindsay Staniszewiski, Miss New York Claire Buffie, Miss Oklahoma Emoly West, Miss Texas Ashley Melnick, Miss Washington Jacquie Brown and Miss Virginia Caitlin Uze.
