Folger Theatre Presents An April of The Bard — and a World Premiere Play

Throughout the month of April, the Folger Theatre will be Searching for Shakespeare: Celebrating 400 Years of Shakespeare’s First Folio — which is actually a citywide celebration in partnership with DC Public Library. The month of Bard-filled bliss features a historic exhibition of the First Folio, a DC-wide Scavenger Hunt, Shakespeare’s Birthday Lecture, family programs, and the presentation of a world premiere performance work.

Olympic Gymnast Dominique Dawes Headlines HerStory 5k

More than 4,000 participants — the largest number of attendees in FITDC HerStory 5k’s five-year history — joined in on Saturday, March 5th, making the Women’s History Month tradition that focuses on citywide fitness a huge success.

Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes, who lives in the DC-area, served as guest host, bringing her whole family out to pump up the crowd and provide words of inspiration before taking part in the race and the events following.
