H&M Continues Retail Takeover of DC Area – This Time Chevy Chase

Released this morning — H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) announced the opening of yet another brand new location in the Washington, DC area (Alexandria just opened earlier this month!), this time at Chevy Chase Pavilion.

“The DC metropolitan area is one of our most important markets,” said Daniel Kulle, US President for H&M, via written statement.  It seems the region, so publicly touted for its lack of fashion identity, is, instead, experiencing particularly strong growth in trend retail — albeit at drastic discount.  H&M is one of the world’s largest retailers, known for offering fashion-forward apparel and quality basics.

The Chevy Chase Pavilion store will feature collections for men, women and children.  Set to open on Thursday, August 1st at noon, the new store will offer the first 100 shoppers in line both an H&M t-shirt and an Access to Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $300.

Shoppers may also be interested to know that, to combat environmental concerns and support the charitable efforts of the region, H&M at Chevy Chase Pavilion will take part in a global garment recycling program. Customers donating old and unwanted pieces of clothing — from any brand — will receive a voucher for 15% off an item of their choice (on their next purchase) for every bag donated.
