Writer’s Block: One Night Only

Bianca Grimaldi (at left with husband Dave Grimaldi) celebrated the first anniversary of the Washington Writing Group with a sweet soiree at CoCo Sala Tuesday evening.

Clients and supporters of the grant writing firm got a taste of Grimaldi’s talents – both in script and culinary selection.

“After a decade working in public health services, I fell into grant writing,” Grimaldi explained. ” I love the idea of contributing to the public welfare, and we’ve grown so much in our first year!”

Her aptitude for writing grant proposals – she’s managed asks from $10,000 to $30 million – is apparently matched by a food fetish.

“My favorite reality show is Top Chef,” she says as she takes a bite of the goat cheese and beet lollipop she chose for the evening’s menu. “I would want to be Padma Lakshmi on that show so that I could say whatever I wanted.”

Grimaldi is rarely at a loss for words, however. To make light of the expression, she even named the night’s speciailty cocktail the Writer’s Block.
