Eight popular District bars are teaming up for a tasting tour of eight specialty margaritas during the first annual DC Margarita March on Saturday, April 27th. Participants enjoy a different 12-ounce pour of Mexico’s favorite cocktail as they journey from venue to venue. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Inspirational Medicine and Washington Literacy Center, leading local non-profit organizations that directly support vulnerable populations in Baltimore and Washington DC.   The Margarita March gets participants into the Cinco de Mayo spirit eight days early with Mariachi music along with specials on beers, food pairings and the featured margaritas. The crowd will begin their day by checking in from 12:00-4:00pm at Alero on U Street, and then proceed in whatever order they choose during this unique all-day tasting tour. All of the margaritas are made with Cointreau, the famous orange liqueur that is the key to the perfect margarita.   Participating bars and restaurants are: Alero (U Street), Bar Rouge, Ben’s Next Door, Judy Restaurant, La Villa, Nellie’s Sports Bar, Tabaq Bistro and Stoney’s. Various levels of tickets with perks can be purchased at www.MargaritaMarch.com. Tickets start at $50.00 per person; V.I.P. options are also available at $55.00-60.00.   In addition, during the event, participants are also entitled to special prices on: (a) the margarita each bar is featuring; (b) a beer pairing at $3.00–$4.00, including Corona,   Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Negro Modelo and Pacifico; and (c) a food pairing at $4.00–$7.00 hand-selected by each venue’s Executive Chef. Prior to the event, participants can connect with friends of friends via Hinge, the awesome new dating app on iPhone and Android.   More Information: Please contact Daniel Kramer, Margarita March Event Producer, at Daniel@Beerathon.com or (310) 926-9920
