Date: Second weekends of June, July and August
Time:
●      Saturdays: 10 AM – 2PM and 7 PM – 10 PM
●      Sundays: 3 PM – 7 PM
Cost: FREE. Skate rentals are $10 and will be available for children only (size 12 junior – 6). Adults must bring their own skates.
Details: Come and GetYourSk8ON! New to The Wharf is The Wharf Roller Rink, our free outdoor roller skating rink on Transit Pier hosting the best party on wheels. Skate outdoors while listening to great music and watching professional skate performances from professionals.

Explore! Children’s Festival @ The Modern at Art Place at Fort Totten

Calling all families to join in on the fun at the Explore! Children’s Festival located at The Modern at Art Place at Fort Totten. On Saturday, August 20, 27 and September 3, guests can enjoy free face painting, balloon twisting, magic shows, arts and crafts, sweet treats and snacks.

Each festival will also include live performances or demonstrations from local organizations and artists. On Saturday, August 20, guests can enjoy live music from The Uncle Devin Show, an interactive musical experience for children that uses percussion instruments to cultivate their minds – a dynamic cross between DC’s Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock. Guests for the August 27 and September 3rd event are to be announced.

Each event is FREE to attend and has every kid’s dream activities for a fun-filled weekend! For more information, click here.

Back-To-School “Peace Jam” Hosted by Will Barton @ John Hayden Johnson Middle School

Will Barton, small forward for the Washington Wizards, his foundation WB5, and The District Sports Program will host a Back-to-School “Peace Jam” in Washington D.C. on Saturday, August 20. The event is designed to ensure that our children return to school happily and safely. There will be live music, bounce houses, cotton candy, games, and more. Students will receive free backpacks with school supplies and new shoes, as well as free haircuts and hair styling. The event is free and open to kids ages 6 to 17.
