Brainfood’s 4th annual fundraiser and burger grill-off on Poste’s patio will feature some of the city’s most acclaimed chefs including Poste’s Chef Kyoo Eom, Osteria Morini’s Chef Matt Adler, Brookland’s Finest’s Shannan Troncoso, Macon Bistro & Larder’s Dan Singhofen, Firefly’s Matt Hagan and more! DC Brau and Three Stars brews will be available as well as specialty cocktails from three of DC’s top bar leaders.

For each ticket purchased, attendees are entered to win a luxury box for 10 people at the Washington/Dallas game on December 7th. 

Box includes 10 tickets, 3 parking passes and food (a $6,000 value!).

ABC 7’s Scott Thuman will MC this wildly fun food event and Porn Burger’s

Mathew Ramsey will serve as a battle judge.

Hank’s Oyster Bar is thrilled to host its 3rd Annual Hula at Hank’s Luau on Saturday, September 26th from 11AM-3PM at Hank’s Oyster Bar in Dupont Circle, 1624 Q Street NW, Washington, D.C, 20009. Feast on all-you-can-eat Roasted Pig, BBQ Oysters, Kalua Pork Sliders, Shrimp & Local Catch Skewers, Huli Huli Chicken, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Hawaiian Macaroni Salad, Exotic Fruit and Steamed Jasmine Rice made by Dupont Circle Chef de Cuisine Theary So. For dessert there will be unlimited Malasadas with Guava Custard and Haupia Coconut Cream. Each guest will receive a souvenir Tiki mug to fill with Mai Tais and an array of other Tiki drinks. For the month of September, to kick off the excitement, Hank’s Dupont will feature dishes inspired by Hawaiian flavors.

This year also marks the inaugural Hula at Hank’s Tiki Competition. Eight of the District’s top bartenders from the DC Craft Bartenders Guild will mix up an array of tropical concoctions to compete for the coveted title of “Tiki Emperor(ess).” Guests will have a chance to sample the entries before a winner is chosen live by a panel of judges.

Burgers & Brews @ Shake Shack Union Station

On Thursday, October 1st – for one night only – Shake Shack is partnering with Brooklyn Brewery to host a Burgers n’ Brews beer pairing dinner at its Union Station  location. The dinner begins at 7pm and will allow Shack fans to enjoy four rounds of perfectly paired Brooklyn brews with Shake Shack burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, and one Shacktoberfest specialty item.  The tasting will be guided by Brooklyn Brewery representatives as well as Shake Shack staff.

Attendees will be able to sample from more than 60 of the region’s most popular restaurants, taste over 50 brews in the Beer Garden, try more than 50 wines on the Taste of DC Wine Walk and enjoy nonstop entertainment on three different stages. Among the restaurants:  Morton’s, Ben’s Chili Bowl, Carmine’s,  Smoke & Barrel, Del Frisco’s, Tortilla Coast, CRAVE Bethesda plus more than a dozen food trucks.

 

Saturday, October 103 PM: The 5th Annual Ben’s Chili Bowl World Chili Eating Championship. Contestants include some of the world’s most famous professional eaters including defending Chili Eating champ Joey “Jaws” Chestnut and Sonya “The Black Widow” vying for the World Championship title.  The competition takes place on the Taste of DC Main Stage.
