Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. [Vid] Black Watch is Back at Shakespeare Theatre

Regional Tony Award winning Black Watch returns to the Shakespeare Theatre for a limited engagement September 19 – October 7 at Sidney Harman Hall.  The acclaimed production (which sold out here in 2011!) depicts fighting in Iraq from the perspective of Scottish soldiers of the historic Black Watch.

Here, Director John Tiffany, Associate Director for the National Theatre of Scotland details some of the more complicated parts of the play, why a play of Scottish personalities can speak so uniquely to American (and DC) audiences, and what message he, personally, hoped to get across on stage about the realities of wartime:
