Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. The Need for Speed

High performance tracks, driver training and auto racing. These go-karts have severe giddy-up.

Pedal to the metal: Summit Point Karts, the newest enterprise of Formula Vee World Champion Bill Scott’s Summit Point Motorsports Park, features America’s fastest arrive and drive karts. Adult and children’s leagues, fundraisers and corporate cronies race on the Washington Circuit, a half mile long course with 11 turns, and travel at speeds from 32 – 72 mph.

On the subject of cruise control: Says, Jens Scott, General Manager, “This offers opportunities to people who want to get into racing, but aren’t able for one reason or another, to do auto racing. It also offers our junior racers instruction in defensive driving that should help them later in life.”
