Reality Bites

Washington, our wait is over. The world is watching our “Real World” and our “Real Housewives” are the talk of the White House. But the much gossiped about DC scene show which kicked off the craze that brought these later “reality” rushes is finally making it off the cutting room floor.

Recently announced, Blonde Charity Mafia (commonly shortened to BCM), has actually found its way to air, although the CW Networks, the outlet that bought the rights to the series in the U.S., hasn’t done much to promote its release stateside. Instead, Australians, New Zealanders and the British (countries that continue to be our allies regardless of how our nation’s capital looks to the masses) get the first impressions.

And while they may wonder how they missed the portrayed over-the-top DC social scene on their last trip over the pond, they’ll no doubt find the cast of characters and mock culture fascinating. The ups and downs of this series and the drama of deciding on an air date have been fascinating enough on this end, while show stars Katherine Kennedy, Krista Johnson and Sophie Pyle must be waiting with baited breath. The docu-drama airs on MTV UK (and online) January 11th.
By now we know “reality” is not reality, but the reality is – the world is watching, and while we were waiting, DC became the place to be. Click to see preview.
