Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Obama Wins the Election

In case you’ve been in a cave, or have been chasing someone in a cave… and hadn’t yet heard the news. One, thank you for coming to K Street Kate before reading the real news (!!). Two, the election results were actually decided on election day. That day was yesterday. If you voted or you didn’t, Obama still won.

One thing I know will happen that I am not looking forward to – the influx of media explaining that NOW DC will finally be a fashionable city with the Prez and First Lady being so “Camelot-like.” We’ve been making style inroads on our own here, people, so give credit where credit is due!

Here’s to four years of new fun!
