National Pinball Museum Opens in DC

An arcade of American culture comes to DC this Saturday, December 4th.  Formerly flipping, bumping and snapping in the backyard of Silver Spring collector David Silverman, some 900 pinball machines have made their way to The Shops of Georgetown Park (3222 M Street NW), where this weekend The National Pinball Museum will officially open to the public.

Silverman, a pinball player since the age of 4, created this palace of pinball to give entrants a true touch, play and learn environment, with acquisitions and donations dating back to the 1930s in interactive condition.

Post opening events include an annual tournament of pinball play, with cash prizes, and other celebrations of bygone culture.

*Admission, $13.50.  Under 9 free.
